Read and save language you want to learn

Keep a useful word with the meaning that fits the sentence you just read. For example, save deadline — hạn chót in English at work so you can practice recalling it later.

Before you start

Open a reading in your library and have a lesson ready for your words. If you need one, create a lesson.

Read and understand the text

  1. Read a short paragraph. Choose Display to change text size, line spacing, or the background.
  2. When audio is available, use the play button at the bottom. You can change the speed and repeat the sentence you are listening to.
  3. Tap or click a word to look it up. Check which meaning fits the context instead of taking the first meaning automatically.
  4. If the paragraph’s translate button is available, choose it to view a Vietnamese translation. The translation helps you understand the text; it has not been saved as a learning term.

Save a word for practice

  1. Copy or note the word and the sentence containing it.
  2. Return to My Library, open the destination lesson, and choose Add Term.
  3. Enter the word in Term and its meaning in Meanings. Use Add more details to add an example sentence if needed.
  4. Choose Add to Lesson, wait for saving to finish, and check the Terms list.

Selecting text in the reader does not save it. A selection may show an introduction to the Chrome extension or mobile app. The manual steps above work without installing an extension.

If something goes wrong

  • Audio will not play: continue reading and try playback again later.
  • Translate is disabled: translation is unavailable for that paragraph; you can still look up individual words.
  • The word is missing from the lesson: check the destination and the save message. Copying text alone does not save a term.

Practice your new word

Open the lesson’s Flashcards and try recalling the meaning before revealing the answer.
