Understand grammar in a sentence
Find out what needs changing in an English sentence and why, instead of only copying the corrected version. Try She have a deadline tomorrow. to explore verb agreement with she.
Before you start
Sign in to the web app and open your library. You need access to AI Assist and remaining AI credits. This guide covers the web panel; actions on text selected on another website belong to the Chrome extension.
Analyze a sentence
- Select AI Assist, then Grammar Analysis.
- Enter an English sentence or phrase with at least two words, up to 300 characters. A short sentence is easier to compare.
- Select Send or press Enter and wait for the result.
- If Corrected text appears, compare it with the original. Read Issues and Explanation when those sections are provided.
- To ask a follow-up, switch to AI Chat. For example: “Why does this sentence use has instead of have?”
What to expect
The result shows corrected text, issues, and an explanation when available. Depending on the sentence, the explanation summarizes relevant grammar points. If no correction or explanation appears, do not assume the sentence is certainly correct.
Not every sentence needs a correction. AI results also need context: read your intended meaning again before using a corrected sentence.
If no result appears
- Only one word: provide a sentence containing it; use word lookup if you only need its meaning.
- Input too long: submit a shorter sentence.
- Unsupported content: try a clear English sentence rather than repeatedly submitting the same text.
- Send is disabled: check the AI credit message. For a temporary service error, use Retry when offered.
- AI Assist is missing: return to your library. The feature may not yet be available in your version.
